E90 LCI xDrive on H&R Sports

I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Eric@PySpeed for hooking me up with these H&R Sport Springs at a great price. They were installed at Kaizen Tuning in Acton, MA. The guys at Kaizen did a tremendous job on the install and alignment, the car is perfect. THANK YOU KAIZEN!! If anyone is looking for a reputable tuning shop in MA, Kaizen is the place to go, unbelievable customer service and a staff that is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Suffice to say, the drop completely transformed the car both in terms of looks and handling. Truly could not be happier!

It's stiffer but very tolerable. Much less body roll and feels way more dialed in than the stock set up. Couldn't be happier

How do you like your conti extreme contacts? I'm thinking of putting these on when my tread wears down...

Love them, I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a high performance all season tire

Are you worried about prematurely wearing out your stock struts and shocks?
I have heard you need to have the bilstein sports to compliment thissetupto do it the right way. If possible I would like to go the same routeas you because my car is CPO and I do not want to draw attention to the suspension.I wouldbuy the springs and spray paint them the black stock color and leavethe stock struts and shocks. How do ou still feel about the ride seeral days later? Are you a manual transmission?Do you think the bilsteins would help or are a necessity?I would not want to have to paint those black too , but I will if I have to.

I think the concept that the stock shocks will wear prematurely is overblown. They may wear 10-15% faster but that's not a lot considering most shocks typically last around 100K miles. H&R Springs are already black so you don't have to paint them, any mechanic will know your lowered either way, there's no mistaking it. If you plan on keeping your car for a long time (5+ years) I would say go for the spring/shock package. I'm planning on ordering the new F30 when it comes out in 2012 so for me it didn't make financial sense. The ride is firmer than stock but very tolerable, my wife doesn't mind it at all either. If you're still riding on stock runflats, the ride could get quite harsh so just be careful of that. Either way, I highly recommend the set up!

Everything looks great Very clean..love the gunmetal finish with black.

What size is your wheel setup? staggered? Maybe it's the pictures, but they look the same. If so, did xdrive factor into your decision?

Thanks man! They are 18x8.5" ET35 all around. I do have 12 mm spacers in the rear. It was more that I wanted to be able to rotate the tires that factored into my decision to go with a square set-up.

Don't really care, I would much rather use springs designed for my car

How bad is the ride with stock shocks? Been researching and it looks like with RFT the ride will be bone jarring with stock shocks.

I would not drop a car on stock runflats, the ride is bad enough at stock ride height. H&R Sports on stock shocks with non runflat tires is actually pretty good...my wife doesn't mind it at all so that should tell you something!

+1 All that. Early on in the N54 release, people WAY oversold the "omg you'll ruin your struts" nonsense.

to the OP - car looks really great.
