Had this done yesterday..
I know allot of you disagree to it - but I like it. Just makes the car look so much better. Apart from the visual effects, there's now a fantastic rasp from the rear after 3.5k rpm. They have returned all the old bits and said I could re-visit them in a couple of years when the car's HP is up and they can return it back to stock, if I decide to return the vehicle early. I think I better de-badge it this morning though Just one question though - I want to notify my insurance this morning - what do I tell them, as this was a custom made system? |

Don't debadge. Atleast that way you aren't trying to be something you're not...
I think it looks OK though

I think it does look a little aftermarket with the massive pipes.

Yeah, I'm quite happy with the work. My first concern was it looking disproportionate or wonky - but they really take their time and measure everything properly. There's also a MASSIVE selection of tailpipe ends. The initial ones which I chose had a thicker rim, same size though, but he only had one of those!
He told me something very odd yesterday. He said he's done about 15 330d - 335d look cars over the years, but this was only his 3rd saloon - they've all been tourers! |

At least it's a 330d, not a 320d or 318d!

Sigh. You never learn
What would be wrong with it being a 320 exactly? He's modified his car to make it look like something it isn't. Isn't that your usual argument?. So what does it matter what it is. He should fit some castor wheels while he's at it

It has twin tailpipes like a 335i or 335d BUT it's probably nearly as quick as both. In my warped little mind, that makes it a lot "okayer" than if it was a bog standard 318d/320d. However I don't really agree with making any car look like something it isn't. Difference of opinion. That is all. We are all allowed to express them - just like you do about my lovely little pram wheels. |

Apart from the pipes being a lil too large for my liking I think it makes the car look a whole lot better!
Far more sensible than the quad pipes that some people retro fit! |

I imagine it will sound raspy at the back now.
I have changed my backbox and now where the air is split you get a nice metallic rasp noise.. Sounds quite nice when on a quick run. I do think the pipes are far too big.. But it still looks nice. The car could do with darklines and a very small spoiler.. imho. The exhaust is much more aggressive than anything else on the car.

I would have thought that everyone would debadge a diesel.
Isn't that the case ? veggie

Nice, but now you have started you need to carry on as they scream aftermarket pipes!. As Mega said darklines, lip spoiler, and maybe lower, black your grills & trim (if not already done)
