Weird horn sound @ WOT?

So.. I finally pulled the trigger and got myself the PROcede and installed it over the weekend.

It has been raining so I haven't really been able feel the PROcede experience, but last night.. I was in third at WOT, I hear this weird horn sound go off.. and there was nobody around me (I was the only one on the road) and I was confused. Anyone had this problem before?

The only thing I can think of is the intercooler clamps. I installed the IC with a friend and maybe there is a leak somewhere. Is that a valid assumption?

Could be the intercooler connections. Are you boosting as much as you should be?
Or one of the DV's let go. Had that happen on my audi TT. Thing just started honking on boost.

Like you said, the only plausible thing is boost leak...most likely from your fmic piping. Could be the shitty dv's, which I strongly recommend you replace since you are running 13psi+. Look at forge dv's with the stett charge pipe or a chargepipe with a bov...like mine. I have the AA bov and I have never heard any such noise. First go back and check your work.

maybe it's the updated firmware with shift notification... you're an unaware beta tester. Where's the release for the masses?

Hey Kevin... I vote for the IC leak you suspected initially.

He would have that in every gear at the same rpm...so thats not the issue. Firmware #30 should be done in the next week or 2. Shiv is testing it now

I think that was a joke.

Kevin, you might want to put "PROCede" in your thread title so Shiv sees this and chimes in. When I read Tony's thoughts (potential knock) in the regional thread you posted I started getting worried.

I'd say that it can't be anything other than a boost leak.

Sounds like a loud whistle right? That's the PROCede screaming in pain... No if it sounds like that, sounds like a leak for sure. Check your couplings, they leak way easier than the DVs

check your charge pipe, make sure its mouthed up to the TB all the way. then check the DVs, that they are in all the way and snapped in place.

Finally if you have a DV that has busted on the inside, you will hear a whistle sound.

Sirens or horns come from Intercooler piping. Check the clamps that atttach you fmic to your charge pipe.

What mods/changes/service have you most recently done?

Kevin fixed the issue recently... he posted in the Regional forum but might have forgotten to update this thread. Turned out being a leak.
