I am a little fuzzy on how the HPFP warranty is set up. So lets say they void my warranty for all of my mods...(i dont really care, im sure its going to happen soon) but I am I still covered under the 120,000 mile HPFP warranty or would that be voided too. If so, thats fucked up.

Sure made for a LONG (it was already long) drive back. The road was not the best nor very well lit so I was keeping to the speedlimit. I was about 100 miles into the trip when it cratered. :/

I will let you know in a bit. Dropped the car off with the JB3 and DCI still installed.

Technically, all the CAR has is a third party extended warranty now..

and this is what concerns me the most about this hpfp issue. all the d-bags on here saying "its not gonna cause you to get in an accident...just pull to the side...blah blah blah". its the unpredictable nature of this problem.....and the huge inconvenience it can cause.

i feel for you OP...hope everything gets worked out. especially being your 3rd one now.

I'd like to hear the real answer to that one myself. My SA and then even the Service Manager both told me, any tampering with the car; ie flashes, chips, etc, would void my 4/50 and that includes the extension on the HPFP 10/120! That BMW was aware of this and was cracking down on these modders, the newest DME has special software to detect specific deleted codes and even psi boost numbers that ran over BMW factory settings. Yeah it all sounds like a line of BS but in the end I don't want to be the loser in the room after that conversation.

Why would BMW let u keep the hpfp warranty if you modded your car? Offcourse it will be voided especially with a tune.

Because if you remember correctly this was an added warranty, specifically for the hpfp. The other shit like like actuators, plugs, coils, injectors...etc are known problems but are not near as frequent as the HPFP. I myself have already been though 2. The HPFP is not only a major mechanical issue it has now become a safety hazard, which can easily turn into a class action lawsuit(and if you are up to date on that kind of thing, there is already a class action lawsuit brewing in CA). So, I feel that BMW can void my warranty on all that other shit and it wont really worry me, but if they void the HPFP warranty I will flip the fuck out. There is no reason to void the warranty if the people with stock cars are having the same issues with the HPFP, I could understand if modded cars were going though more of them, but sorry my friend, thats not the case.

They actually can detect this, but they dont worry about it as much as people think. BMW headquarters in Germany has a database that wirelessly logs your DME codes. This gets sent to them as soon as it occurs on your DME. It doesnt matter what you delete, the dealership may not be able to read them bc you deleted the "tuner" codes but BMW HQ is a whole diff. story. I talked with my SA and the Service manager about this (which I have a great relationship with) and they told me that. They told me for informational purposes, not to scare me. They also said that if BMW HQ flags something as a problem with warranty, there is nothing that the local BMW dealership can do about since all of your warranty work has to be approved by BMW HQ before the tech actually begins the work on your car. They submit a request to BMW HQ and go from there.

Dealers and service advisor/technician relationships vary from person to person.

At the end of the day, take off all your mods if you dont want ANY problems.

Its that simple guys.

If you have to ask, then take them off. If you know someone in the business, then you wont have to ask.

If your drivetrain warranty gets voided so is the warranty or any other action related to the HPFP.

Dropped off car at 8:00, they called at noon and said it was ready. Did not say peep about mods.

They said the pump that was put on in March was a 943# and this is a 933. He also said they have yet to have a 933 return and have not seen any N55s with failed pumps...
