Seats Uncomfortable?

After just getting my 335d M Sport.. I am loving it.....One problem though. I may just be not used to it but I cant get comfortable yet? I am having a problem with my back. I cant get my back right back into the seat between the lumbar support. Dont get me wrong, I may just get used to it but I find it strange and I'm sure I cant be the only one whos had an issue.

When I said to a mate (who is quite "large") that I was getting my motor he said he couldnt fit in the seats!! Now I am 6ft and 14 1/2 stone so really shouldnt have a prob should I? Even with the lumbar let out fully I cant get in the damn thing properly! Can I have BMW adjust it somehow? ANyone else got this issue? Or will I just used to it after sitting in the unsupportive IS200 seats?

I hope its not a terminal issue, I am head over heels with the car!!

On mine there is a switch down the front right (like on the corner) which adjusts the support from the side cushion parts of the seat, I guess this is what you mean? You can adjust it to have it tighter or looser around your sides. Hope this helps?

You can also adjust the lumber up & down in the seat - perhaps yours is set at the wrong spot and it's not allowing you to sit back into the seat. Is it the sides or the seat back that's bothering you?

You might not have lumbar adjustment. Have you got a round rocker switch by the bolster adjustment?

You can hear the bolsters filling up and deflating if they are working.

I have a rocker switch on the front right corner of the seat.... I can feel the tighten and then hiss as they deflate.... Even fully deflated I need them wider.... Maybe I need to lay off the pies

My wife find's it a bit of a squeeze too, so i've told her to try and lose a pound or two.

have to say I sympathise, both my other half and I find the lumbar support totally in the wrong place, and thats with optional lumbar support. It doesn't support the lower part of our backs, and trust me, I have tried all options. The only thing that works is a rolled up hand towel tucked into the base of the seat not what i would expect from a prestige brand!

The lumbar switch is the round switch. To adjust it in and out use the front/back of the switch, up and down use the top/bottom switch. If you fill up the lumber bladder a bit first before you move it up and down you'll be able to feel where it is a bit better... Good luck!

I find them the most comfortable seat ever, drove from Koblenz to Worcester in one day, getting out of the car at home I felt fine, no aches or pains. Just a case of experimenting with different positions until you find the right one.

Do you have electric memory seats?

I will just have to keep trying..... No to electric memory. I have semi electric.
I will double check the lumbar switch but fairly sure its only inflate/deflate on mine

Cheers all for ur useful comments. Ive only done 200 miles so far arond london mainly so when i have a long run i will experiment for periods of the journey with differnt positions.....

Trouble with seats are they're built to accommodate everybody ie. different shapes and sizes and built to a price lets be honest!

Think BMW seats are on a par with others tbh, no better, no worse although others give better lateral support imo.

As your car is an auto John it should be a bit easier to find a good seating position?

The best seats in the business from my experience are Volvo but they spend a fortune in R&D and are more generous with the padding and strength of foam they use which ultimately forms the greatest part of the seat.

I'm about the same as yourself: 6ft, 14st, and handsome - and haven't had any bother with seat adjustment. Although it does take a bit of fannying about to get them just right. You're not from Natradam, are you? Haha.

LOL....I think it may be due to the fact that I have it in full pimp mode. i.e. on the floor, 60 degrees reclined and so far back that I have to steer with my nails.... ;-)
