Hi, first post, couple of questions..
Hi, Ive decided to buy my first BMW early next year, im looking at an 09 320i or 320d (leaning toward the 320d at this stage) with the Innovations pack.
I was wondering.. can you buy the M6 style rims here in Australia? Ive read in the US section that **********s sell an aftermarket M6 rim, but i imagine the shipping to Australia on four rims would be horrendous. ![]() Also, can the Voice Control be installed on a 2nd hand car with the Innovations package? Or does the VC only come with the professional Nav version? Thanks, Scott. |

Sorry, one other question - I noticed some people here in the Aussie section mentioning Tirerack.com to buy rubber. What's the cost of shipping four tyres from the USA to Australia?
thanks again, Scott. |

I selected these particular NON RFT tires because they are apparently excellent (have used Bridgestone Potenza S2s before with godd results) AND because they were less than $A 1,000 (excluding shipping) in order to avoid additional costs on entry (Customs duty, entry fee and GST). There are of course similar tyres around that price range including Michelins etc. Select the tyres you want on their website and then email rudy@tirerack.com for a firm quote including shipping. |

Tirerack has quoted me $230USD to ship 4 tyres to Sydney
I am shipping 4 VMR rims from the US to Sydney Airport for $400 You can buy M6 replica rims in 18inch for between $1,600 to $1,800 and 19inch for $1,800 to $2,000 INCLUDING tyres as a package deal at many wheel places in Sydney. If you haven't got your car yet and have only just started looking at aftermarket wheels, you will most certainly change your mind a million times, I know I did! There are some great brands out there that can give you a nice look but more unique to just 'BMW rims from another model' Let us know how you go with the purchase, there are many members on here with both the petrol and diesel. |

welcome scott. bmroxm5 is 100% right.
I was deadset on the M3 wheels, then CSL style, and then M6 style, then deep dish CSL... and so on... I eventually fell in love with the VMR V701 which is also what bmroxm5 is getting i believe, and purchased them from PYSPEED.com in the states. Having said this, I did hours of reading (to my wife's discontent) to find out the perfect size, shape, offset, tyres, etc... OFFSET being VERY important. Its worth talking to some of the Aussie vendors on this forum (check the classified page), as buying from them would be easier, if they have the wheels you fancy.

Yep I'm getting the V701s! Funnily enough they were the FIRST aftermarket wheels I saw on an E92 in your thread Pete, asking if anyone was interested in a VMR groupbuy, and I thought woah those were nice.
Then I went onto CSL style (but way too common), some deep dish GTC wheels from EuroDivsion (boardsponsor), BBS LM or CH-R (too pricey), a few others thrown in there and then came back to settle on the V701 for it's clean look. I'd get the real deal Advans if I could afford it, but maybe later down the track.. |

AFAIK, voice control has only been bundled with Professional Nav in Oz cars. To find out whether it can be retrofitted to Business Nav, try doing a search on the I-Drive / Navigation or Audio/Video technical forums... http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=122 http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 |

Wow, thanks for all the replies, the knowledge here is awesome!
Persianpete - is that a Piper Arrow in your photo? I flew down in one from the Central Coast to the Temora Air Show roughly 6 months ago. I was learning to fly, but its a little too expensive right now. (funds going to a BMW instead) ![]() |

If not too late, you should get them from a local vendor mate. Unless they're coming fedex/UPS, expect an extra $400 in BS freight & broker fees on arrival, especially if it's through BAX/DBSchenker.
My wheels were $360us shipping and an extra $450au when I picked them up from DB Schenker airport depot. ![]() |

I ended up changing my shipping method to door to door, so its $500 USD in shipping charges, shipped via TNT. Hopefully won't get stung with customs duties because the wheels are worth less than $1000AUD as per the paperwork (cough, cough) I've got the invoice and everything, haven't actually gotten around to going to the bank to organise the international wire transfer, but will do that soon so I can get my sexy new wheels asap! |

if you are getting tyres/rims and they are more than $1000AUD try splitting the shippment, may cost more in freight but you will save the 10% at least and a massiv fuck around

Scottos - its a Mooney. I used it to get my Retract and CSU endorsement. Its an awsome plane... but not very affordable anymore. I will be returning to the Piper when I start flying again.
BMrox - I did the exact same thing... and sorry to tell you but DBSHenker will still hit you up with customs fees. They may also try and hit you up with GST but just remind them of the total cost written on the invoice if they do that. Expect around $250 total including Customs and Agency fees.
