Driving to work this morning, while sitting in a queue I thought I'd tune my radio in to LW Radio 4 ready for the Ashes tomorrow.

No LW, WTF - seems this has been deleted from 2010.

Has anyone used a portable DAB in car with any success, I don't fancy sticking aerials to windscreens and suchlike - I was looking at the PocketDAB 1500?

I saw a thread from a while back where retrofit was quoted in the region of £900 - anyone done this, or can verify it?

At the OP - are you certain LW is not there? I didn't think I had it for ages until I realised I did.....

I think you should blame the BBC for still using long wave radio, not BMW for not including it. My E90 won't play 8-track tapes either........

I can receive radio 4 on lw in my e92.

Actually listened to a wee bit of cricket one time all the way back to Switzerland - just on the limit.

Just keep scanning below mw frequencies to find it.

MW stops at about 500, doesn't go any lower. toggling the AM button just takes me from MW to MWA and back. From what I can see it's a 2010 deletion, my E91 was manufactured Mar'10

@Chris -

happy memories of 8-tracks. However, as my 2008 E90 did LW then I can blame BMW for removing a feature. Wouldn't be too bad if they compensated by adding DAB (supposedly the future

Jon - thanks for the linky. I have seen the Pure and it's what I was referring to by not sticking things on the windscreen. Locals round my way don't need much encouragement to 'borrow' items from the car as it is

If all else fails then might have to.

Yep one of these worked well in my TVR for last summers Ashes. BMW's finest DAB this time though
