GIAC Unresponsive to my Questions
Hi fellow forum members. I am in the market for either a GIAC flash tune or piggyback tune (JB4 or Procede) my for 2010 535i. I contacted the Forum GIAC Rep Austin to ask a few questions and sent him two different PM's both of which to date have been ignored. I also emailed him and got ignored there as well. I guess he/or GIAC does not want my business so I will move on to JB4 or Procede for my tune. Kinda ridiculous to have a vendor in the forum ignore potential customers. Anyone other then Austin that works for GIAC in here who would like to help me feel free to email. If not I will contact Shiv for the Procede or Terry for the JB4 as I am sure they would both be very helpful.
Thanks |

why dont you just call them or your nearest GIAC distributor? GIAC does not sell through the forum, only their distributors do like EAS for example.

Well, don't bother trying to call Austin @ GIAC with a question either. If you leave a message for him, you may get ignored as well
Having said that, it's a great tune.. Hopefully, your nearest dealer can help you with any questions.

You should call one of thier dealers, they don't check this forum often, or at least it seems that way. They have a dealer network for that reason, for you to call and ask any questions or issues with the tune. They don't sell direct like the piggy vendors do.
What questions do you have?

Maybe the guy is on vacation...it is the holidays you know.
Contact one of their dealers...that is what they are for. Austin is not on here very often. Finally, what questions do you have that haven't been covered already here on the forum?!?!?

The easiest is to call them, their phone number is on their website. I have always been able to speak to someone (during busines hours, of course) or have been called back if the competent person was not available. Another alternative is to call one of their vendors, as already mentioned EAS is also very responsive. I have been in contact with GIAC for a long time and have never had a problem to get an answer from them. FYI I got two e-mails back from Austin during the last 48 hours. Alpina_B3_Lux

+1 I have had no problem getting ahold of them directly (not through the forums). The fact that they are even here is a bonus anyways. They have stated numerous times that the best way to get in touch is through email. I seriously doubt that they surf all the forums every day for each make/model of car that they tune.
There is a forum here for vender feedback... why not rant there? If you have a tuning question for this forum, ask away. |

Definitely call or email. PMs really aren't the best way to get a hold of any vendor. Especially those that don't live on this forum

I agree with everyone and call GIAC and/or the vendor directly. In light of all the techno advancement we've taken a back seat to human interaction. Pick up the phone dude.

GIAC is a decent size company. They have products for many different automobiles. They couldn't possibly spend their time on every car forum, checking every PM or post.
Simple pick up telephone and call, or like many others have said contact one of their many dealers. |

I have run various piggybacks and have had the GIAC Stage 1 tune for about 9 months. I would never go back to the piggybacks. The GIAC tune is smoother than the piggybacks and does not require minor surgery to the ECU. Also, GIAC never throws codes. As far as customer service, that is a different story. GIAC usually does not answer PMs, emails or return calls. I am old school - I work 10 hrs+ per day and always answer my emails and return calls and I am not selling anything! If customer service is very important go with the BMS - Terry's service is the best. If only Terry could be a GIAC dealer?? Hmmmm

I had a somewhat different experience with GIAC (I'm not yet flashed but I will be soon): They respond (mostly Austin), but in a matter of 2-4 days. Sometimes I was lucky enough to exchange 2 emails in one day
Do NOT use the PM to communicate. Use their contact form on the GIAC website. |

+3... We've been through our shares of tunes and the GIAC stuff is solid and the best so far.
I know Austin personally and trust me... he has his hands full. I know they're not ignoring you on purpose. Call them or send them an e-mail. Like everyone said PM is not a great way to get in contact with someone. At the same time, you'll probably be better off getting in touch with one of their authorized dealers if you want that in depth customer service. It's why they have dealers. Quote:
