Comments on your winter tires
My Bridgestone LM-60 had no problems anywhere I drove today. Unplowed hills, back alleys, slushy roads all no problem. Had the car parked for 5 hours in a parking lot while it snowed non stop and drove out fine. Only the occasional traction control light coming on when I gas a bit hard. Was passing SUVS that were driving at 30km/hr.

I've only hit very light snow with the dunlop 3d's so it wasn't much of a test but the car feels more responsive with these tires versus the lm60's I had last season which started off great but faded much quicker than I would have liked.

My Blizzak WS60's worked great in my unplowed back lane and everywhere else.
A Honda Accord with all seasons slip-slided while trying to climb the slight incline on Kingsway and Victoria this morning. |

First snow with RWD and I'm glad I bought the WS70. I'm impressed with the amount of traction on snow / slush / ice in both braking and acceleration.

Haven't seen any snow yet, but so far I find the Continental TS810S handle very similar to the stock Continental allseasons in dry conditions.

LM-60s or Michelin Xice2 from what I'm reading...Pirellis are good too I think...it also depends what you want...Pure Winter/Snow tires or Performance Snow tires...
LM-60s favour more Performance while Xice2s favour more towards traction and getting you out of those "stuck" situations....but I'm sure others will chime in on what's better...I went cheap with iPike 409s and the ride/handling is terrible but I guess it should pull me out of those "bad" situations (which has yet to happen since Toronto hardly saw any snow last year.) |

I choose the XI-2 and they are good on dry road and ICE. I will give my comment on snow after the first snowstorm!
(I ran Nokian Hakka2 before and I prefer the XI-2 for now..) |

I have only good things to say about my Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme.
They were cheap, have much better traction than my previous set and are quieter than my two sets of summer tires! |

This is my first winter in a rwd car (I picked up General Arctic Altimax's) and so far they are insanely silent and comfy! Will need to wait for a larger snowfall than this morning to see how they do in deep snow but so far I'm very happy with my purchase!

First full week with my winter set Click here for wheel and tire details
We don't have any snow just yet, however, I am ready for it. Been driving every day this week, and find the Michelin Ice None-RFT a difference like day and night from my Summer RFT. I hope to be driving just like this with snow on the ground

You really can't do better than the XIce2 on packed down, ice covered roads. Have them on my wife's Accord. But, anyone who dirvs a BMW for the handling will be dissapointed with the dry-road cornering. Feels squishy in the Accord.
I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta R tires on my 335i. Recommended by BMW Canada dirivign instructors and the local Subi/Mitzu rally guys. I can't rave enough about them. One of the top rated performance snow tires, one of the top rated "real" snow tires. Not as good on ice as the XIce2, but better in soft or deep snow. Very predictable as they loose grip. Huge fun to power slide through corners. PS - I ski in the AB & BC rockies, driving through mountain passes every weekend from Dec to Apr. In my Dinanized 335i. |

This is the beginning of my second winter on a set of Dunlop SP Winter Sports for my 328i. I haven't had any problems on snow or ice. I also find that they handle crisply on bare pavement and are quiet.
