hey guys,
Im looking for a new set of summer tires, and the following are the options that I have... could anyone share your opinions/experiences on these ones?? 1. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (not RFT) 2. Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position 3. Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 4. Continental ExtremeContact DW Thanks!! |

I've got the PS2s on my 335i. Great tires. Yeah, there are a couple tires with slightly more grip in the dry, but the PS2s out perform all of them on wet roads. And they are really sooth and predictable. When C&D did their test of summer tires, they used the PS2 as the reference tire to compare all the others too.
Bridgestone's have a reputation for excellent dry grip, being slippery when wet and wearing out really fast. |

I had the RE050A RFTs and to date they are a seriously impressive tire if you want to maintian runflat capabilities and are okay with a bit stiffer ride. I drove a 335 with PS2s and Continental DWS (similar to the DW) and they were both fantastic in the dry. I only drove the PS2s in the wet and it performed quite well.
Overall you can't go wrong with either. |

Love the PS2's I've used a lot of different tires and nothing can compare to Michelins for me.

Consider RE11(Bridgestone)? I went from my OEM PS2 to the RE11 and loving it. Most likely won't go back to the PS2. Only drawback is the size selection on the RE11's.
Could try Simplytires/tires23 for local deals. After all they sponsor many boards, you could always ask them if they could price match(relatively) to Tirerack. I got mine from Tires23 at Tirerack pricing, but experience tells me you have to be very careful when negotiating, be prepared to go elsewhere sometimes.

The RE11's are an excellent tire, we've had some local track guys go from PS2's to RE11's and they're loving them. Not saying the PS2's aren't good, they are excellent tires, and from the list above, I would only consider the PS2's or the Bridgestone RE11's.
Whichever you decide to go with, send us a PM and we can get you into a set! Best time will be as of February for summer tires as there will be Mail in Rebates in effect. |

I put the Pilot SP'2 (RFT) on my Z4 this summer. A massive improvement over the Potenza's that the car came with. I have read that the 335i had its suspension tuned for the RFT's (unlike my Z4). That means a softer suspension. Have you checked with others who have moved from RFT's on the 09 335? Would hate to have a soft suspension on that car.
