2008 BMW Coupe

2008 coupe with i-Drive - Just wondering how the sat nav can be updated? -should the dealer provide a disc for me to do or would he do it before hand? What should be the latest version that should come with this vehicle?

Thanks

You can find unapproved discs on-line for about £30, but I don't know how reliable they are and I've heard one story about someone needing a completely new unit because of a bad disc, but that could well be apocryphal.
Personally speaking, I wouldn't consider anything other than a dealer sourced OEM item; expensive, but perhaps worth it for peace of mind.
I don't know what the latest version is, but your dealer will be able to tell you.
