New order problem help!
I have just placed an order for a 335d. 2 days after placing the order I decided I wanted a sunroof so I phone my dealer. He brought up my order on the computer and then said unfortunately your order has been given a chasis number and therefore nothing can be changed on it. I obviously protested but he was adamant that once a chasis no. had been assigned to a car then nothing could be changed. I asked him to look into it but he said he was talking from past experience. I was upset that only 2 days after ordering the car I was unable to change the spec in any way.
Does anybody have any suggestions? |

Talk to the manager? I'd imagine they can't hold you to the order and you could cancel / re-order or have him simply comply and add the sunroof. If it hasn't started production then it should be possible to modify the order.

Thanks for your advice. The dealer says I can cancel the order but I would have to wait another 2 months. Do you think it is worth waiting the 2 months for a sunroof. Although I know I will rarely use it, I think it adds character to the car. In the back of my mind I feel I will regret not having waited for the sunroof. My previous 2 cars have all had sunroof.
Dilemma, to wait or not to wait! I need help in making up my mind! |

Force them to make the change and bail to another dealer if they refuse. I ALWAYS make my deposits (on just about anything) with my AMEX card. If someone has told me it is refundable in writing and they refuse to refund it, I just call AMEX and forget about it. They have resolved a number of things for me over the years and I do little more than make the call to file a complaint and watch my bill for the credit. Good luck. I hope you get your way!
