I really have tried searching and I cannot find the answer.

I have a 2009 (4/09 build) E91 with the Professional (non-nav) cd player - no USB - no iPod - no CD changer - no Logic 7. Just a base (for the United States) radio with Sirius satellite radio.

Which BMW iPod interface kit do I need? Will dealer programming be required if I install myself?

BMW offers a OTC iPod kit (called iPodyourBMW) for your e91, this will require coding after installation in order to allow your 3-series to recognize the device. mObridge is also another option.
