iDrive Problems
After switching from a Lexus navi, I've got to admit, iDrive is a joke. Whenever I play music in the car while the navigation guidance is on, the music mildly dims down but it's still very hard to hear the guidance voice. On the Lexus, this wasn't a problem because the music would dim down enough to hear the navigation voice clearly. Is there any way to fix this problem on the iDrive?
Also, I'm disappointed that the iDrive doesn't say the actual street name of whatever road I have to turn to. But this isn't as bad as the next one. On the Lexus, if you have to make a turn somewhere, a little screen pops up next to the map and the little screen shows the proximity to how far the turn is. I'm surprised iDrive doesn't have this. 4 times last night, the iDrive said, "prepare to turn left", which I did, and I'm going like 60 m.p.h with the other traffic, then all of a sudden, the guidance says, "turn right", but by then, I already passed the turn. I don't want to slow down in the middle of an intersection just to know WHERE I have to turn. If I knew WHEN, then I could have easily slowed down before the navigation said, "turn right", and made the turn. If there is any way to fix this, as in, the iDrive showing what the name of the road I have to turn to, is on the screen, then that would be amazing. Not to mention, the navigation voice sucks and sounds like a robot. Why can't it sound like the voice command girl? But I digress... |

When the woman is speaking, turn the knob for the volume up (clockwise).
This should increase her speaking voice. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with the steering wheel controls, must be the knob. As for your other issue, you should put on Arrow display, as it is very accurate in telling you when to turn. Or what you could do is set your secondary window to a map of the direction of travel say at about 200 feet, while your large screen is at .25 miles or 800ft |

The steering wheel controls will also turn up her voice when she is speaking.
