Help with Sirius Install!
Hi all,
I've posted in the DIY forum already but I'm hoping since there's more traffic here someone can help. I've already got the receiver pluged into the MOST and power cords in the trunk and have everything else all ready to go but how do you get to the fiber optic bundle? I have the fold down seats but I can't find any diagrams showing what to do after you fold down the rear driver's side seat. The Install instructions (I have like 4 different BMW PDFs) are all very vague at this stage. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! |

Sorry to hear about the frustration of poor instructions (used to need to speak German to understand English BMW instructions) I think that the fibre bundle in in the bolster beside the rear seat (driver side). Have you looked at these photos?

Thanks for the reply!
I finally got access for the fibre optic bundle .... I'm going to add to the DIY later, because pull is actually yank the sh*t out of the bolster at the top near the seat belt ... lol BUT this install is turning into a giant cluster f**k. So now I'm staring at the fibre optic bundle and I don't have a fibre optic cable in position 4 of the top module x14280. Those are the Sat Received Fibre Optic Cables ... wtf! I have on the top module, fibre optic cables in spots 1,2,3. And in the lower module has cables in spots 1 and 2. Did anyone else run into this? Before anyone asks, the car was ordered with sat prep and all the MOST cables were in the trunk. Again, ANY help would be appreciated!!! |

Search for a post by me in the DIY section. I recall explaining this to someone else. I have successfully done this install in my 2007 328. Sorry I'm posting from my iPad right now, or I'd do the search and post the link...

The fiber optic cables are not necessarily in the same position in every car - I think it states that in the DIY. It's not important that they are in the same exact positions - only that they are arranged correctly so that all units in the circiut are in series with one another to essentially make one big loop.
EZ way to see which cables are from the Sirius is to have someone shine a flashlight in the end of one of the cables that attaches to the unit and look to see which one is illuminated at the MOST connector behind the seat - do this with both the cables (one at a time) for the unit and arrange them according to the DIY so that all are in series - doesn't matter whether the cables are in the exact positions as the example in the DIY
