Slipping Clutch at the Strip

Most of you know that I recently made the decision to take out my ACT clutch and put the OEM clutch back in. Huge mistake!
For those that really believe that the OEM clutch is fine for all of the power that we're making then you're wrong.
This was a new OEM clutch with about 6k freeway miles on it.

Why did I decide to take it out? Because I had the opportunity to put the OEM clutch back in for free and figured that I would get rid of my car in the next 6 months. Well, now I have to pay for a clutch job because of my decision.
I was able to limp home but if I decide to go WOT then it goes into "slip mode."
That's funny...People have problems going into limp mode but I go into slip mode.

For those that are curious, this is a vid of one of my runs at the strip.
When in 2nd, look at the tac and listen to it slip all the way up to 6k rpm and then just stay there. lol
In order to even have any chance in the world of having some sort of fun, I had to let my clutch cool down for at least an hour before I could run again.
My best time of the day was 12.0 and best trap was 115 and this was with a slipping clutch. It just makes me wonder what the times would have been but there will always be the "what ifs".

Damn that sucks. I don't know if you're selling or trading in, but they normally don't check clutch slippage at the dealer

I heard the C63's were on a tear out there and no Procede representation either....

Yah, I had a great launch against a C63 and had him.
Then I shifted from 2-3 and my clutch didn't grab.
It was seriously hit and miss.
Everybody asked me after with what happened because I had him at the launch and he wasn't catching up.
You can see it in the slip too. My times were better until the 1/8th.
He ended up running 11.9 and I ran a 12.1.

There was one C63 that hit the wall!
It was his first time and he didn't really know what he was doing.

I have a hard time beliving you killed that clutch in 6k miles. Did they resurface the flywheel this time or are you on your 3-4th clutch without ever resurfacing the flywheel? I am wondering if that coule be the reason for the clutch going south on you so soon.

Resurface with machining? no. Sanding/scuffing is done always.
It's not that the clutch is "killed" after that many miles.
The pressure plate doesn't have the clamping force for the power that we're putting down.

Sorry you have to go through this clutch issue. It is the main reason I didn't pull through with my turbo upgrade.

Here's a picture that I received after one of my clutch jobs.
This is what my tech does every time he installs my clutch.
He can do it in about 2.5 hours now since he's had so much practice with me.

BMW book says 6.9 hours...once you've done it once you can easily pull it off in 3-3.5 max if you're not being disturbed..

The clutch isn't completely fried. I am now able to go WOT without it slipping so I think I just glazed it really bad.
No matter what, the OEM clutch isn't cut for the amount of power we have.

Thats why you needed to replace it the first time, and the OEM clutch has not become better than before
