Godspeed intercooler kit from ebay? **UPDATED PICS**

Came across this one ebay and it seems pretty legit.

**UPDATED PICS 2ND PAGE**

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-bm...#ht_3568wt_972

Its just hair smaller than HPF and it comes ready to go in. For the money I think it looks great. Do you know if anyone has tried this IC? I feel anything is better than the stocker, almost making it worth it. Opinions?

I contacted a vendor about this unit... they actually have one a bit smaller as well. It looks like the stock unit just a tad bigger. Its less than $300 and is designed to be a replacement for the stock, a very small upgrade.

Everything buttons back up just the way it was with the stocker in place. Its only a few dollars less than the full size one from godspeed but goes in without taking of the bumper I think. If the pressure drop is signifigantly less than the stocker and I can signifigantly reduce the pressure drop then I am going to pull the trigger. I will post pics and data that the vendor provides me with as soon as I get it.

Looks good. I hope it doesn't require cutting.

I saw another vendor that sells the kit and their description says you don't have to. I just posted the link to the cheapest one.

God Speed are excellent China/ Taiwan/ Southeast Asian made products. They are designed in Cali and built in Asia, like practically everything now a days. However, their products are excellent.

I have their downpipes and you couldn't tell the difference between them and $700 APR DP's.

Well thats really good news. Look what else I found. This one is even cheaper, appears to be the same quality and endtanks but it is 2 inches taller.

I think I may pull the trigger on this. Its either this or a V1.

FMICs don't repay themselves in a couple of months.

I am just going to leave that there.

You should go ahead and get that FMIC, but then again the V1 is a great thing to have

A good way to get a brand new V1 discounted is by buying an outdated version from Craigslist for $150 or less. As long as it's a legit unit (not stolen), Valentine Research will send you a brand new one for $200 including shipping as soon as they receive the old one. I just did this for a friend, we wound up with a brand new V1 in the box with all the accessories + the box and accessories of the Craigslist one (you only need to send back the old V1 alone) for under $350. Not bad.

I knew you could update them, but I thought they sent you just a new radar I didn't know they sent you all the accessories as well?

+1, I thought that it was just them updating the firmware on the older one. If you get a new unit, I will be doing this tomorrow! Mine is 8 years old (the big body) but still works beautifully!

Yes, the "fat" one will be replaced by a brand new unit with box and updated mounts/cords. That's why you should ensure you buy one of the older revisions with the thicker body, that way you can get it for really cheap on Craigslist and will receive the new style for sure. If you get a "new body" with outdated firmware you might just get a firmware update, it depends on the board inside (I suspect there have been hardware revisions within the new body style as well).

They even make it a point during the upgrade process to send you the new unit ASAP so you don't drive without it for too long. Drop it at a self-service USPS office on Sunday evening and you should receive the replacement one by EOW.

Go for it Henry!

Wow, that's great news on the IC. Too bad I already have the AA IC, lol.

And about the V1, that's awesome.. I might have to take your advice and look for one on craigslist.

I read very good things about the higher end Passport models. I know it sounds like the standard V1 user response, but I just can't drive without the bogey counter and the arrows.

The GPS feature must be nice though.

The good thing about Godspeed is they have competed in the Redline time attack series (biggest time attack in the U.S) and have won several events.

Now if they only did it in a BMW i'm sure a lot more of us would have their stuff. Do it

I am getting ready to grab the smaller FMIC. Its 270 shipped and is just a tad bigger than than the stocker. Same company, I am thinking it will be alot like the RPI, ER, ETS style FMIC. NO step, nothing fancy... just want to get away from the pressure drop of the stocker to give the turbos a break. I wonder if I should consider the bigger one again, but I would like to be able to button up the front end.
