Bluetooth pair with 2 devices?
I have 2 cell phones. Is it possible to have the car pair with both of them? I know on Plantronics headsets this is a supported function. :x:

Depends what you mean when you say "pair". Your bluetooth system in the E9x can pair with up to four devices. But you can only have one active bluetooth connected device at any one time.
In post-September '05 built cars you can select the priority for the phones (so that when two or more paired phones are in the car, it will connect to the one you want it to connect to). An active connection to two phones is not very practical. How would you manage the system when both phones are actively engaged in calls?

If I understand your question correctly the answer is yes.
I have a 2007 335 and you can pair more than one cell. The BMW phone directions explain this. I believe you must prioritize them but it is possible. I was told but never tried that if both were conected it would work by priority. If you're on phone 1 I don't think you get a call on phone 2 at the same time. But if you're not on phone 1 and get a call on phone 2 you would be able to answer. My salesmen explained this to me.

You can have up to 4 mobiles paired with the car at the same time.

I have confused my phone (Treo700P) by having the bluetooth active with my car and having my bluetooth headset in the car. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, but I just make sure my headset is off. That's the only problem I've run into, and it's not an issue with the car. You can use the car with 4 phones as above. Not sure about the "all at once" feature.

I have the 06 325i paired with my Motorola E815 and my wife's RZAR. The car pairs both phones and you determine which has priority. You can easily switch between each phone via the phone BT menu.
With comfort access the fob will connect to whichever phone is personalized to the fob. I.e., when my wife uses the car, it automatically connects to her phone as the primary and when I use the car it automatically uses my phone as the primary. |

In regards to the headset.
I have an option of which bluetooth to conect to on my Blackberry. You can also select this to connect automatically. Try to unselect the auto connect and you will be promted to connect when you first enter the car. This should eliminate your device being confused by headset.

The simplest way to think of it is this: you have a TV that gets 4 channels... how many of those channels can you be watching at one time? Think it over... I'll wait...
