Got your "Vista OS" Yet? No?...Good, You might want to wait 3 wks/1 month

A "CAUTION" for all of you wanting to Upgrade to Vista and Have iTunes on your PC....I just got my PC Upgraded to Vista Ultimate, I Must say, even w' the "Aero" visual enhancer and all the "Yahoo" Widgets, it does not look like much....After all, my old PC had the "Vista Transformation Package w' Apple Dock" and it seemed...Exact the same ,

Below link is a free download for those who have the XP and want to JUST get the looks of the Vista
On My computer has worked FLAWLESS....!

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...ion-Pack.shtml

Anyways.....The whole point of the Vista is its "Inside Capabilities" Being a Student Pilot, The Flight Simulator X w' the Direct 10 is the best, closest thing to real flying (X Plane is the WORST 2ndary Software for Aviation Sim, and it requires 60GB HD)
For everyday use I prefer my iMac......!

That said, let me get to the Point, One of my friends at school upgraded his XP to VISTA as well, and his iPod is "BLANK/Dead" same goes for iTunes, They shut off everytime he turns them on. after allot of e-mails from users who experience the same issues after they installed the "VISTA" Windows, iTunes/Apple came out w' an Official Warning, that the iTunes is "NOT YET" Compatible with the "Vista Operating System" on the article on the web site, Apple says the "Upgrade" which will be free to download, in order to make the iTunes work with the Vista should be available to download in about 2 weeks, well the special op tech we called on the phone, advised that it will be more like 3 wks to 1 month........!

Cheers.....!

Thanks for the warning.

I think it goes without saying that it's best to wait several months at least before buying a new OS. The program will have so many bugs and it will take a while before software and hardware is really "compatible" with the new software. Think of how many drivers for different parts that you'd have to update.

I had the same problem. I upgraded to Vista Home Premium and I couldn't get my purchased music to authorize. So I went to Itunes support and a simple 105 kb dl rectified the entire problem. This patch fixes any problems. I still have a few other driver incompatibility issues, but Vista is gorgeous and I don't regret it.

As a Student pilot, did you you notice (as I did) that X-Plane as a whole just flys better... although, I use FS9 just becasue of how awesome it looks haha.

It depends on "what" you use to fly the simulator. I got the Rudder/Yoke and Throttle Quadrant, I personally didn't find the X-plane better in any parts over FS9/X....That been said, X-plane has its "Enjoyable" Experience but Nothing close to FSX....My Opinion.

An oh, what about the damn 60GB of Space Required...I Had to purchase an "External" drive just so i can install it...
