LA Tune Weekend...looks like rain...concerns???
This question is primarily directed to Shiv, but wanted others to see it too.
As it stands there looks like there is a 30% chance of rain this Saturday and 60% chance of rain on Sunday. My slot is Sunday. Is there ANY ill effects of dynoing and tuning the car with high humidity and rain as opposed to a nice cool, dry, low humidity day??? I would THINK that all of our cars will dyno a bit low if it's raining out due to the humidity. Shiv, is this correct? I know cars at the track always run slower (worse) on high humidity days. Therefore, it only makes sense then that the car will perform worse on the dyno too. Also, is there any other "set backs" or "negative drawbacks" the rain will cause on the tuning? I just want to know that if we get our cars tuned on a raining day it's not going to perform differently then when it's dry, or be tuned "worse" than those who had there's tuned on a low humidity (dry) day? Is there any A/F ratio issues? Boost issues? Etc, etc? Thanks Shiv. |

Nothing to worry about as far as the tuning goes. The test drive, on the other hand, will be far more enjoyable
cheers, shiv |

My car is filthy and the front is damaged from some douchebag hit and run last week. Been holding off taking it to the body shop until after my install/tune. I say bring on the rain!

Thanks Shiv.
Yes, I am aware the dyno is inside (I've been to Harman Motive before and had other cars dynoed there) but it still will make for wet engine and intercooler on the drive TO the shop and a wet/humid dyno garage. It was the humidity and wet engine/intercooler that concerned me. All is good now that Shiv assured me of nothing to worry about. See you all there. |
