Clutch diverter valve question!!
As we all know AR makes amazing products. My question is! Has anybody used an AR modified CDV? I just order mine and would like to know how other users like this product? And also if the diferences between the modified one and the stock is worth the time to change it.
Thank u!

A modified CDV makes a huge difference. You'll love it. I went with a CDV that looks OEM from outside but the internals are modified. The AR one, based on pictures on their website, looks like it doesn't have any markings on the outside so it might throw a flag with a dealer if you ever had a transmission issue. They probably won't even notice though.

They are incredible, makes an enormous difference in the smoothness of shifting, especially in the lower gears. You got ripped off buying one though, all you need is a hammer and a screwdriver to beat out the restrictor plate, it's very easy and doesn't damage the valve at all.

improved shift times, ex. .30 vs. .26. Improved 0-60, like they claim.

LOL I have almost all of their parts, I know they are great. But I bet there isnt much diff. in AR's cdv and another brands cdv, its just not that complex. Although one thing I will gripe about is that AR's instructions for installs are outdated and not the most accurate. I got my OCC and 2nd oil cooler installed AT BMW and they had trouble with both. We had to come up with custom brackets to support the Oil cooler. Also they dont tell you that if you have a BOV and use their OCC, there isnt much room for the bulky rubber hoses to be tucked away/under, doesnt look very pretty, but its functional! Thats what matters!

It really is that easy, just make sure you put the screwdriver in the small end of the CDV. If you don't know what I'm talking about take the CDV out and compare the ends, you'll understand. Alex.

Do yourselves a favor and just delete it like me.
A cdv takes a 4mm hole and contricts it to a 1mm hole. (specs are most likely not accurate but makes a point) A modifed cdv just makes the 4mm hole the same throughout which is the same as deleting it all together. Yes, the CDV is a PITA for people that really know how to drive a stick. No matter how quickly the clutch pedal is let out, the clutch will always engage at the slower rate. I deleted the CDV the very first day I got my car.

That's what I did.
A lot of people think that you need something to go in its place, but you don't. It's a plug and play thing. The main reason to put something in its place is so the dealer can see that something is there and if anything happens to the trans then they can't fall back on that.

The esteemed Mr. 5 certainly isn't on the verge of having to ask a dealer to replace the clutch under extended maintenance I, on the other hand........
