Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta vs Continental Extreme Contact DW
I need to replace my tires according to the BMW tech. Definitely not getting the runflats again after only 19K miles.
After all the reading from this forum and others, these are the two tire choices. They both have great reviews and value. The weather in northern California is mostly sunny with some rain in the winter. Which one would you choose? As a side note to why I'm bring this question up, the Goodyear Eagle F1s where on my list, but then I heard they get really loud after a few thousand miles. These two tires don't seem to have that issue. |

I have had the Vredestiens for over 35k. Overall they are very good. I did have an issue with a sidewall failure of the right rear at about 30k. The sidewall showed cracking where the sidewall and tread meet. I have done some searching of other sites and found this is an issue others have reported with other makes of cars also. I decided to replace them with Michelin PS2's because I got a killer deal on the rears. So for the next couple of weeks I have PS2 on the rear and Vreds on the front.
After reading the many positive reviews on TireRack for the DWs I think they are probably a better way to go. When I bought my Vreds they were a fantastic value but the prices have really gone up. As they wear they begin to generate some noise also. I think either way you will likely be happy. Personally based on my sidewall failure I will not go with Vredestien again. |

I love me vredesteins! Mine would never last 35k so I 'm not sure if I would ever see the cracking mentioned. Comming from General Exlaim UHP's the vredesteins are much better in my opinion.
