jb3 advice please
hello i have 09 e90 335i auto
i need some advice on my jb3 when i 1st got my car i put a sstt i was happy with it but after 8 months i wanted to upgrade to a jb3 for more power about 10 days ago i got one from n54 after install took a test drive on map 3 was ok not bad little more power then a sstt the next day it ran even better on same map the next day after that it ran slower not as strong... like every day is a little different and also aways faster at night ?... last night i put 3 gal of 91 and 2 gal of c12 racing gas 108 octane i put jb3 on map 8 it ran very strong but my stop watch said i did 0 to 60 in 4.9 i have no mods besides the jb3... what is the most strongest map for 91 octane no mods ? what dose hot and legfix mean ? could i put it on map 8 with racing gas but no mods ? i will be going to the track soon im thinking my car is going to run around mid 13s in the quarter mile im wishing it will run high 12s ill be happy with 13.1 could i run those times on map8 with no mods ? im in ventura ca 50 miles from los angeles is there any track that dose quarter mile drag racing in my area up to 150 miles ? any advice and info will be greatly appreciated thank you Last edited by rockybmw; 12-16-2010 at 03:46 AM.. |

Where did you get the JB3 from? Used or new? What version is it? PnP or Pin Out? Is the chip a 2.0?
The car should run strong consistantly once the JB3 has adapted. Enrita's post is right on. Don't mess with the higher maps until you have a consistently well running car. Then you can add mods and change the maps. Running race gas will only have the performance up while the gas is in the tank.

I wouldn't be running map8 with tune only even on pure ms109. Did you get a datalogging cable with your JB3?
The rule of thumb is map3 for 91 octane, especially on a 100% stock car. Mike |

Cheers to a local guy.
Enrita gave you the basics, but you should do some reading on n54tech. To high of a map and you'll loose power and possibly throw a tuner code. |
