You can have e muffler shop cut out the catalysts and replace them with straight pipe and you won't have to buy aftermarket downpipes.

This is what I was thinking. I know the guys in the Audi B5 S4 community usually gut their cats and run them like that. Would that be beneficial, performance wise, at all?
