My nut

Hey all,

I lost a one of the two clip nuts that hold down the cowl that covers part of the ECU. I went to:
Autozone
Advanced Auto
Pep Boys
Home Depot
Bennett Auto
Ace Hardware

Nobody has one and I can't find anything other than bulk on the internet and even then it's hard to know that I'd actually get the right size and type. Anyone have one they can mail me for a couple bucks or point me in the direction of where I can buy just one or two (other than the stealership)? Thanks

If you find out where to get them - let me know.

Both of mine stripped, so the cowl is only being held down by the wire loom and the cowl vent and filter assembly. haha

You can find a replacement almost anywhere... I have been using a plastic wire holder that they use to hold co-ax cable in place. Works very nicely. I found some metal ones in the bin at the GM parts department that work well also. I like the plastic as it holds everything in place quietly.

Lowes has them by me..ask how I know. They are in these drawers/tray section of individual items. Automotive clips..just bring the bolt along to make sure you got the right one.

Cool, I'll check them out. GetBMWpartsdotcom wanted a minumum of $15 for shipping for an item they sold for 12 cents. I was like huhhh?

Yeah leave all the tell tale signs that invite inquiring minds. The idea is it looks stock untouched for dealer visits. It might work better with plastic co-ax holder straps, but every tech will know you were in there and obviously up to no good. If they encounter any hard to diagnose issue.... eh but the owner of this car been mucking around with the ECU.
