12.16 on street tires yesterday. 2575 feet density altitude. UPDATED WITH VIDEO

***VIDEO ADDED***

So I finally got out to the track on a whim yesterday and I'm pleased with the results.

2008 E90 335i
  • Procede
  • Raceland downpipes - catless exhaust
  • AEM Meth system
  • DCI
  • 240lb driver
  • Street tires - 265/30/19 Nitto NT555's
  • 91 octane + meth
  • 2nd gear launches
60' 1.8628
1/8 7.84
1/8 90.69
1/4 12.1617
1/4 112.75

I basically wanted to take the car out in the form I drive it on the street daily and see how it would run. I did have some 115mph passes and some 12.70 passes. I ran 12.16 twice which was the best of the day and all I could get out of the street tires. 9 passes total.

Cheers

great temps for the 335, did you ever run into any issues with oil temps after repeated pulls?

None. Crept up to about 260* but I let it cool off for 30 minutes or so. It was pretty windy (head wind ) so it cooled quickly. There was a bike out there that consistently ran 150MPH that claimed he was about 5MPH slower that typical due to the wind. Looking forward to going out again on a cooler, still night with some better tires and maybe some 109 octane.

You might lose some traction with colder ambients unless you change up the tires, the mtech kit should help you out on keeping oil temps down bc of the better flow to the cooler itself. I would think that the wind would affect the bike more than a car bc of the weight and he is at a higher mph. That octane will get you the best "change" in terms of results IMO, more timing and if you autotuning is set high(18-20psi max), it should autotune to a higher psi.

If I recall correctly, I believe autotune is only set to 17 PSI currently. I did not datalog while at the track but plan to in the coming days just to see what it looks like. Based on the fuel (boost) gauge I was peaking around 17 and hitting 15 up top.

sounds perfect, but i dont know how you got 17psi on 91 octane, i think it would hold close to 17psi if you ran higher octane which should get you into the high 11's given you run the same and in the same ambients.

He has methanol. Perfectly normal to go 17 Psi.

We both spun a LOT. Listen to him in and out of it several times.

The CTS-V is a monster. If he would have hooked up and not sure you would have taken him?

Great runs, especially on street tires and a peg-leg diff !!!

We ran 3 times. Neither of us could get traction, but even in a close race he couldn't run me down on the big end.

Thanks!
