llumar vs. 3m tint

i went to my local tint shop today and he said he uses a 3m ceramic tint, and it wont interfere with my radar detector and the bluetooth. then i went to another place and they said they use llumar carbon they were both the same price at both shops. is carbon and ceramic the same thing? whats better llumar or 3m? thanks

Those are both good brands. You want to make sure the installer is particularly good.

You really do want to be careful with tint on these cars, see my thread:

Does anyone NOT have their tint bubbling on the dot-matrix?

Ceramic tint is used in ultra hot climates... why pay extra when you don't need it? Not to mention the potential for CA interference.

i heard good things about llumar. actually thats all my friend ever gets for his car. and i have been told that they are not the same.

one of the difference that i can tell is the thickness of the film.

Metal-based tints might interfere with CA or AM reception.

Ceramic tints are more expensive but you won't have any electronic interference issues.
