warranty time
Hi chaps
Quick question. I changed my rear pads myself this autumn and used EBC pads and oem sensor, would this void the extended warranty? or just any claims regarding rear brakes. cheers |

I've been through this with them recently.
Really helpful bloke who was clearly a car nut explained everything for me. Brakes aren't covered anyway unless it's a complete failure and you are free to do any mods you wish but they won't be covered. What he did was worse case they might blame a related failure on the fitment of none standard discs/pads. For example he said, if i wanted to put +1 tyres on like falken 235/265, worse case they will refuse any suspension claims because of the wrong tyre sizes. Now we all know these guys will wriggle out of any claim. He didn't elaborate but he did say that the worse case scenario was possible and has happened before. I think probably because people have cut all corners and taken it to a dodgy back street who has done some work, fucked it up and then they try to claim on their warranty and the dealership find a dodgy oil filter or the wrong oil type etc. I'd interpret this as, as long as the work is done correctly you should have no issues or would have to be very unlucky for a refusal. |
