Lease Return - Any dealer?

Searched on this and couldn't find any results. When my lease is up, can I return it to the local dealer instead of the one I bought it from?

Thanks!

Any BMW dealer I think. I just did this (returned to a different dealer) but I also purchased a new one.

I leased through BMW Financial (I'm pretty sure). That is who is listed on my credit report.

Yes. Any dealer. Think about it. If you moved 1000 miles away. Would you be expected to drive 1000 miles back to return the car?

Think again. While any BMW can accept your car, the only dealer that is required to do so is the one that sold you the car. Any other dealer has the option to tell you that they're not interested, though in reality they rarely do this.
