PROcede equipped cars dyno results....
This thread is to keep a record of ALL cars with PROcede installed and their results (not just the LA Dyno Weekend cars).
This way people from Dallas and LA as well as future PROcede installed and/or tuned cars can add to the list as well. In this thread please list the following: 1. Your car (Coupe or Sedan) 2. Transmission 3. Miles on car when dynoed and PROcede installed 4. Break in procedure 5. If your car was BONE STOCK when dynoed or you have ANY mods on your car that might affect dyno numbers....yes even aftermarket wheels/tires. 6. Which level Octane gas you have/used. 7. Baseline Dyno Numbers (also give peak power with RPMS if you have it.) 8. PROcede Tuned Dyno Results (again list peak power RPMS as well). 9. Weather conditions One last note, if you ever "redyno" your car at a later time (and possibly under better conditions) please edit your original post and ADD those new results so we can all see the results of the original tune and dyno and the redyno results as well. Let the list and PROcede results begin! Last edited by Driver72; 02-11-2007 at 10:21 PM.. |

Ok I'll go first:
1. Sedan 2. 6MT 3. 500 miles 4. Floored it a couple of times....never over 5,500 RPM. 5. Bone stock. 6. Chevron 91 octane. 7. Baseline - 271/280 HP/TQ, peak HP at 5,800 RPM and peak TQ consistent from 2,200 to 3,200 RPM. 8. PROcede Tuned Dyno Results - 327/365 HP/TQ, peak HP at 5,600 RPM and peak TQ consistent from 2,800 RPM to 3,200 RPM. FWIW, Shiv mentioned that the model of dyno used will underrate peak torque by about 10 FT LBS compared to other dynos.

Alrighty all, the PROcede is in the the car...as you know, the car boogies hard now.
It was weird, today seemed like the steptronic day, as the two people prior to me and the one after me all had steptronics. Here's my results: 1. 335i sedan 2. Steptronic 3. Only 1228 miles when dynoed and PROceded 4. Mixed. Drove it "normal" with the occasional redline run. 5. 19" ASA AR1 wheels with 265/35/19 tires in rear. Combo is 3.2 lbs lighter than stock combo, but tires are .27 inches taller than stock. 6. Mobil 91 Octane 7. 266 RWHP @ 5600-5700 rpm / 278 RWTQ @ 3200 rpm 8. 312 RWHP @ 5600-6000 rpm / 355 RWTQ @ 3200 rpm's 9. 71 degrees, 38% humidity, near sea level. Standard 1.0 (no correction used). Of the 4 steps I saw, they were all pretty close to this. 2 of them had slightly lower numbers and 1 had slightly higher numbers (316/360 I think...had 3200 miles on his). But the Mobil gas boned me. The guy that ran prior to me had Mobil 91 octane in too and his numbers were really low (like 305 hp 335 tq) and both Shiv and Ian from Harman Motive stated Mobil is the worst gas. His numbers were so low with the Mobil gas that Shiv put 2 gallons of race gas in to compensate for his bad gas. This brought his numbers up to the same range as mine. Both Shiv and Ian recommended Union 76 or Shell as the best. Sadly too I had about 70-75% Mobil gas in my car. The other 25% was shell. I filled up with Mobil when I was at 1/4 tank left on earlier Shell fill up. Shiv stated that the peak numbers mean little but rather look at the whole run. He overlayed a bunch of other dyno results over mine and they pretty much mirror each other, some with peaks 6-8 hp more, but only over a 100-200 rpm range. He advised me to not use Mobil and fill up with Shell or 76 and with the better gas the PROcede will "adjust" and probably show better peak numbers. I was quite happy with the results considering I was using mostly crappy gas and had only 1200 miles on my car. I'm going to redyno once I've run out all the crappy Mobil gas and use the Shell that's down the street from me and put a grand or two more break in miles on her. Thanks again Shiv, car is a blast. Edit: Added #9 on the list "weather conditions". |

Did your car have the exhaust on it when you got the 330/380 run? I would assume it did. You said you did 2 baseline runs too, one with the exhaust, one without. What was the difference between the two baseline runs?? |

Wow 93 octane makes a HUGE difference. Good thing the California 91 octane PROceed tunes are apaptive and will make this kind of power when race gas is mixed with our crappy 91 octane.

Now this is what I'm talkin' 'bout!!!! My 335i also runs on 93 octane and with the XEDE, mine dyno'd @ 322WHP and 378 lb.-ft. RWTQ, so I'm looking for similar numbers as PresaMat when my PROcede is installed (although I probably won't get it dyno'd again; just a "butt dyno" which I should be able to tell if there's a difference ).

EXACTLY! Also good thing the PROcede is adaptive, so once I get rid of my crappy Mobil gas in my car, the power will improve a bit once I get some good gas in her...and a few thousand more break in miles. :rocks: |

Interesting, b/c Mobil gas is all I've been putting in my car, although it's 93 octane; it's been great, even with the XEDE...no issues. I haven't tried Shell yet; there's many more Mobil stations than Shell here in S. FL; they're like on every street corner. I can find a Shell station, but they're just more spread out, and I usually fill up at the Mobil station conveniently located close to my house.

I never knew Shell gas was so great. I usually use Sunoco or 76.
Looks like the 93 octane makes a pretty noticeable difference over 91. Someone mentioned that the maps were the same but the ECU just adapts to the better fuel? |

As for your results, to be fair, they were taken on a Mustang dyno which operates on a very different principle from a Dynojet. The torque/hp curves even look different by the way that the Mustang dyno loads up the car. So it's probably not fair to compare numbers from two different dyno types. The only thing that matters, of course, is the difference from stock as tested on the same dyno in similar conditions cheers, shiv |

Actually, when I saw Patric 335's dyno graph, I quickly got out my Mustang Dyno graph of my XEDE-equipped 335i and it looked strangely similar to Patric 335's PROcede-equipped 335i DynoJet dyno graph (except that my numbers were a bit higher, probably due to the 93 octane gas and then I also remembered that you calibrated the JapTrix' Mustang dyno to emulate the DynoJet). My XEDE graph is almost identical to Patric 335's PROcede dyno graph with very small variations of course. Anyway...I just thought that was interesting.

Ack!
Shiv you recommend Chevron at all over Shell? I like Chevron here in WA because their nozzels actually seal and they have nice blue lights But more importantly weren't they one of the first to meet top tier gas? |
