DA/Roundel

Has anyone taken a D/A to the hood or trunk Roundel to polish it?

I always mask it. Not sure what effect polishing would have.

are you asking if it would cause any damage? I've done it with finishing or waxing pads at low speed with no problem... but I would mask it just so you don't have to deal with excess polish/wax in that area...

Yea I was asking if it would cause any damage. I have a few little scrathces on it and I might try using my small finishing pad with M205.

I actually had a problem one time after removing my tape from masking off a customer's hood roundel. The blue painters tape removed some of the graphic material and I freaked. Ever since that experience I haven't taped them off and simply avoid them with more aggressive methods (pad/machine speed/cut product etc.). I personally buff mine with very mild techniques with my DA machine and it works to brighten it up quite a bit. Never had a problem with mine.

I believe the customer's roundel mentioned above was an aftermarket replacement and the OEM roundels are probably more substantial with regard to either quality or finish

Just wanted to relay my experience. Basically I use EXTREME caution because of my little "boo boo". Maybe hand correction might be best if you're unsure.
