My Poor Car

All the crap from the roads at this time of year has been building up on my car for weeks. Today I had some spare time so decided to brave the cold and clean it off. Took me a good few hours but it payed off in the end.

Here are some before and after photos.

Anyone else got any photos of how dirty your cars have gotten over the past few weeks, lets see who has the dirtiest car

Just a nice bucket of warm soapy water, had to wash it three times to remove all of the dirt though.

Used Wonder Wheels for the alloys, one of the best wheel cleaning products I have used, it effortlessly strips off the stubborn brake dust.

However I was slightly annoyed as after I finished it rained

Always jet wash it first - clean water no detergent.

Wiping all that across it, even with a lambs wool mit, will marr the finish.

Wonder wheels has acid in it, this is why it cleans them so easy but won't do your wheels any good in the long run.... Non acidic cleaners are just as good and kinda to your wheel.

I must be the opposite, which probably just makes me a bit of a saddo! I love it when the car is gleaming and polished, and can easily spend a whole day getting it looking perfect.........only for it to rain immediately.

We had a street party in the summer and, when introduced to people, they all said "ah, you're the bloke who's always cleaning his BMW...."

So to the OP..........good work fella (just don't use Wonder Wheels).

Mike.

Which Non-Acidic Wheel Cleaners would you recommend? I have used Non-Acidic cleaners in the past and never found them very good at removing stubborn brake dust

Go to your dealer and buy some, I've tried umpteen different cleaners and found the BMW stuff to be excellent:
