upstate NY driving schools?
so as a Christmas gift, my GF is going to pay for me to go to a driving school. Watkins Glen is fairly close to me, and i know that there a few organizations/clubs that do 1 and 2 day classes there. i know of BMWCCA and ARPCA but don't know the specifics, so i was hoping some members could chime in with recommendations. anyone?

Are you looking to attend a high performance driving event (HPDE) at Watkins Glen, or a full-fledged driving/racing school?
To attend an HPDE, contact your local BMWCCA Chapter or SCDA (I prefer driving in SCDA-sponsored events). I'm not sure what racing schools are located near Watkins Glen, but Skip Barber Racing School offers high performance driving schools, advanced car control clinics, and racing programs at Lime Rock Park in northwest Connecticut. They're currently offering 15% off regular program pricing if you enroll before the end of the year.

O'Neil in NH was great. More rally/offroad oriented, but they have a winter driving class that's great too if that's not your bag.
Skip Barber is obviously great, though more of a ways from NY State. |
