Muffler delete for 335i
Would anyone in the King County Area mind meeting up if you have muffler delete? I am thinking of doing this but would love to hear it first. I can come to a place convenient for you. And any recommendations on which shop to go to? Thanks in advance
I have an e92, not sure if it would sound different than e90. |

Just curious why you'd want to do that? Are you going to change your bumper to a 328?
Sorry can't help though.

No people have done it, I've seen videos on youtube but mostly of e90 335i. They should just cut your mufflers and replace with piping, and maybe wield new tips. Basically I want exhaust solely for sound and dont care about the 10hp difference. This route would save me enough to get FMIC instead

just do it!!! I just had mine done on my 2011 e92 335 and its amazing. I was in the same boat as you, didn't want to spend 1k plus on an exhaust and just wanted more of a growl. The muffler delete is amazing couldn't be happier. do a search i think there is a white e92 video posted on the forums.

If you dont mind having drone then do it. I did it on my old e90 325i, I ended up getting a remus muffler after a week as I can't stand contant drone.

I dont mind drone or back-breaking harsh suspension lol. Looks and sound is all I care about! Im going to meet up with twinturbo335ci, but I am pretty set on doing it. Planning on taking it to Dan Fast Mufflers. Thanks for the input guys!

To the OP
Not sure if you have done this or if you are considering other options but I figured I'd share my doings over the past month. I have an e90 so it's a little different but I too have been trying to come up with a cheap alternative to the super expensive catback systems. After watching all the youtube video's I could and searching through e90post I decided to remove my second cats and resinator and keep the stock mufflers in place. Well, after doing it I would not recommend it to anyone! It sounded absolutely horrible. The most raspy god awful sound came out of my car and I felt horrible for doing this to my poor car.

^^ SOrry to hear that! I remember reading somewhere that cutting out the resonator was a bad move not just for sound but performance. Not sure the truth to this but I didnt do resonator. I did do my mufflers and damn.... its really loud. Now Im going to sound like a huge bitch for this but... the drone is a little much lol. For me, its not unbearable but for passengers who aren't into that kind of stuff, its a headache machine. One other thing Im dont like is the excessive gurgling and farts. A little sounds nice but its kinda too much. Well the way I see it, worth it cuz I dont want to sound stock. But in the future I will get a full DP back exhaust.

theres no cat converter in the mufflers. The only way it would be illegal is if its above the state limit decibels for exhaust loudness which i doubt it is. BTW I did downpipes as well and it really doesnt smell bad at all. Wonder if I'd pass emissions without them...
