Will 22" rims fit?
I already know this thread is going to spark some haters. I have my flame suit on already.
I am thinking of buying 22" rims to put on my BMW for shows, so hopefully I will not be driving on them much. Has anyone on here put 22's on an e90? Can the car be lowered? what needs to be done? the sizes are: 22x9.5 front and 22x10 rear, or 22x9.5 all round I want the car to be lowered so the fenders just sit over the top of the tyre. Will these size rims fit? All constructive information will be appreciated.

I don't think your car can be lowered and on 22's. Feel like it'd have to be lifted for something that big.

Sure you can fit anything but it will require some elbow grease.
Rolling and possibly pulling with some camber adjustments, depending what offset and tire sizes you plan on running. -Charles@VMRWheels

As Charles said, yes it can work if your willing to do some work. If your lowering it, plan on a lot of work. I would honestly advise you to install an airbag suspension for a fit like that, thats your best chance of success IMO. |

22" might be a bit extreme in sizing for the E90. Although the general consensus is nothing larger than 20", I`m sure you can possible fit them, but if they are available in 20" I`ll recommend going with those instead.
I have never seen a 3-Series on 22". The most I've seen is 21". 22" wheels will completely alter the dynamics of the vehicle and might be very hard to get them to fit properly, especially the fronts. |
