$1200 - What would you do?

Just curious what you guys would do with $1200 to mod an E92 335i...

I was thinking wheels but then again wheels are pretty expensive I'm not sure that budget would cut it. I was also thinking Vorsteiner trunk...but I don't think I'm about to blow over a grand on a trunk...

if you dont have wheels and suspension, and are looking at other exterior mods, they wont be supported without a nice wheel / suspension set up any way. Trunk, hood, bumper, sideskirts, anything liek this requires a wheel / suspension set up to look good.

Save up and get the wheels and suspension you want, then go from there!

they are decent wheels, not the best, but decent. I see you are in NY so I would be careful on these as NY has claimed many VMR wheels. But if you are in an area with few potholes you will be fine.

How is the durability on those wheels? My area is pretty bad as far as potholes go...so they will probably take a hit or two, even if I do my best to avoid them.

If you havent bent your OEM wheels you prolly wont bend the VMR's, but if your stockers are bent, the VMR's would be also!

Nah - I've taken some pretty nasty hits to my OEM wheels, and no bends fortunately...something tells me though that the VMR's wouldn't hold up - obviously I would be more careful but all it takes is one bad hit..

You may be able to find some really nice wheels used with tires for that price. Just gotta look around!

I would strongly recommend the M3 steering wheel. This is what I did for $400, and can say it's the best money spent on the car. Not for looks, but for the comfort. Man they feel so good in your hands. Sometimes I even put my face up to it to sniff it.. the nappa leather smell is intoxicating.

VMR wheels are fine although I would go 18 instead of 19...Boston roads can be brutal and mine are holding up perfectly

Front lip, spoiler and griills are very cheap and easy mods

For $1200 I like the steering wheel idea myself - I love my M3 wheel and it was my first mod. Get a GIAC tune with the rest of the dough and you'll be set...
