Steering column stalk controls not working

I have an 06 E90 325i and the stalk controls on the steering column don't work sometimes. (turn signals, Brights, cruise, wipers) It's either they all work or all don't. No rhyme or reason. The buttons on the steering wheel itself have no problems.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

loose wiring connection inside. pop the surronds and check the plug ins for tightness.
