Idrive creates multiple "USB" folders for my MP3s, why?

So, I've read the manual a few times on this, and I've tried messing with a few things inside Idrive, but I can't get all my MP3's in one folder.

Lets say I have 5 gigs of music on my flash drive which is only 8 gigs, and i load it into my car. It will create a folder called USB1. I then take another 5 gigs of music (because I can't fit all 10 on my flash drive) and load it into my car. It creates a folder called USB2 for that 2nd 5 gigs of music.

I've tried all sorts of things, including going into folder 1 and try to import from there, but nothing. What am I doing wrong here? I'm about to just go buy a 16 gig flash drive so I don't have this problem...

That's your solution.

Everytime you change the root of the load the iDrive will create a folder for it. If you want all your songs in the same exact iDrive folder you must set your USB exactly as such before the import.

Why don't you play it straight off the USB and skip the whole import process?

Because I have 12 gigs of music and an 8 gig flash drive.

I knew I should have gone bigger with the flash drive, lesson learned.

Ah gotcha.
Also keep in mind that when you import the music to the HD it will convert the bit rate and quality - I can't recall off the top of my head what it saves it as.

If you like your audio in the original lossless format for example then you should play it directly off the USB stick to reatain the quality. Just throwing that out in case you were not aware.

That only applies to commercial CD's ripped to the HDD, it downconvert them to 128kps WMA. USB imports do not apply...
