win.
edit: I don't see any for sale under 65k asking price... As far as new goes, that 335xi of yours is probably the best bet other than something like an Audi S5/S4. Used... maybe a Porsche 996 Turbo?

Another vote for the X-50. That one right above me is perfect.

Autotrader and cars.com have asking price around 60ish as you mentioned but it's ASKing. I recommend going to forums, craigslist and auctions. Personally I can't justifying sinking that much money into a car. Maybe when I can pick one up for 45k in a few years I will do it.

A friend of mine has one. VERY nice car! It does not handle as well as I would have like though. I little vague in the steering and a bit of body roll.
I would hunt for a used GT-R if you're really set on an AWD car or a C4S (997), 996TT is a bargain for sure. GT-R for $61K obo with 17K on it. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

Depends.
(imo, from my limited experience) Underdriven : used GT-R (super sticky) Overdriven : EVO (no matter how aggressively you slide it around, it simply refuses to get away from you. So easy to handle, I can't even express it.) -scheherazade |

I doubt it with your mods. But I could Say stock and stock the s4 pulls on our car a little.

^There are tunes for the S4, but I'm not sure how much faster than your current car you could make it without modding the hell out of it. 996 TT would for sure be faster, especially after modding, but you have to take into account the cost if something goes wrong. If you're planning on DD this thing, Porsche parts are crazy expensive and a turbocharged, AWD car is always going to be a little bit of a worry at higher miles (I can only imagine what it costs to replace any part of that AWD drivetrain). I personally would be nervous about DD'ing a 996 TT without another car in the stable, but that's just me.

I'd stretch for the used GT-R. Otherwise, no AWD for me in that price range.

^ M3 isn't AWD...
About the S4: It's nice and it's quick, but the steering feel is numb like any other Audi. The wheel is too light and gives no feedback.

Hey guys!
Im not really a fan of evo/sti's but if I can make an evo have over 500whp I suppose it will be better than an s4. I think the new s4 may not be as good as the 335. It looks sexy, but its not that fast. If i got an s4 I would get a previous one with the v8 ![]() I agree that the 996tt will not be fun when it breaks down therefore, I will stay away. So I guess its between getting an s4 (v8) or GTR- if i can find one which is highly unlikely. Any other cars? Its so hard because the restriction of awd Thanks! |

Is there something that you don't like about your 335xi or something? Why the switch?

For what it's worth the S4 is probably one of Audi best awd cars, especially when combined with sportdiff and driven in a rally style it can be very entertaining and some genuine drift ability. But it's not real replacement for a good rwd car if that is what you are looking for, so probably a better option would be a used GTR or even Carrera 4S if your money can stretch this far. |
