Am I crazy?!?!?
A buddy recently was unsure what I did for a living and I told him...
"I do software implementations" He replied, "What does that mean exactly?" I told him "I work with firms implementing S.A.P." Well....he'd never heard of S.A.P. I found this shocking, as he works in the finance space. Then I thought, maybe it's not a mainstream as I thought... So I ask... Have you at least HEARD of S.A.P.??? |

Never heard of it. But then again...I am in medical field, do not really do much with marketing/finance/computing/accounting/management unless it is directly related to my daily activities in patient care.

Some people where I work call it the same thing Lots of money in it, but very unfriendly, always holding us up, and it seems we have to keep getting consultants to fix stuff... I believe we actually have a group on hand all the time now.

I voted for the first before reading the thread. Then I realized I knew what it was, I just didn't know the abreviation of S.A.P.
I agree that most of those programs suck. Very hard to navigate and the companies hardly ever use most of the functions. I worked for the Cleveland Indians and they used this program Goldmine for most financials, customer info, call logs, etc. Man did that program fucking blow, slow as hell, 95% of it was unused, nobody knew how to use it properly due to shitty training, all the info was always entered incorrectly or there were doubles of stuff. They started to implement another program(forgot the name) for gameday info(calls, complaints, food/merchandise revenues, etc.) and that program was just as worthless.

I've heard of it referring to TV, but nothing else.
