According to DMV'S Website, located at http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/vr_info.htm#BM2517 it does say:

Will I be able to give these plates as a gift?
Yes. You may give a Special Interest License Plate as a gift.

So therefore these plates will be offered as a gift only, with acceptable donation...

Im starting off at $150 because that's the first offer I was given. Probably gonna give it a week and the highest offer will get it. I also have it listed on other forums..

Yeah I can't remember, but it's not $40. I think it was an additional $28 for me but if i remember correctly, it depends on the price of the car just like your registration fees. These were for my 2009 M3 Conevrtible that was $82,375

Haha good question, but nah I'll keep the username considering my email and username is the same on most every forum I use. Lol... But these actual plates are brand new and were never mounted on any car but I did have the old sick BMW plates on my black 335i...

See so there we go, I was close at $28. But whether it $28 or $38 or even $48, I don't think the BMW enthusiast thats on these forums viewing this item & debating whether or not to purchase is going to make a decision based on the additional $3.17 a month to have these SICK Plates! lol
