I'm thinking 35% all the way around? or 35% in the front and 15% in the rears?

Id go for 35% all around (cept front of course), my brothers AW e90 has that setup and it looks great, I'm saving up for this exact tint % too. And as for tint type with a CA car, people saying not to go with metallic tint.

*EDIT* another thing you should keep in mind is your interior leather color, my brother and I both have black so the 35% already looks fairly dark, but with a lighter interior it won't look as dark.

Mine has 15 all the way around and I'm contemplating going to 5 all the way around and 35 on windshield......Blacked out is my preference makes the white stick out

I can't speak for out of my city, but my buddies kept getting pulled over everywhere - so I went with 50F/20R

Yeah we have some cops that mess with you, but over all they let it slide.

I have 35 all around and it looks nice, but not very dark because I have the beige interior on my AW. The limit here is 35. If I could redo this I'd risk it and go 20 all around. Cops in NC are chill.

If you can get your car inspected in NC then cops usually wont bother you. I know when my wife was in school in Raleigh I put 5% on hers and the guy that inspected it only asked me where I got it tinted at. Told him I had it done in SC, he gave her the sticker and no problems while she was there.
