Wastegate Rattle & 12-17 AT Maps & Firmware - What settings are people running.

I finally got round to updating from v4 to v5 and loaded the 12-17AT maps and associated firmware.

On v4 I've always had wg rattle and it seams about the same on the v5 maps. NO rattle when running the stock maps.

So what settings are people playing with to address WG rattle?

I'm not quite ready to do a turbo upgrade yet so would rather play with the settings so as to make the car sound less ghetto.

typically, it varies to be honest. You'll have to play with it until the rattle goes away. I'd start from the default, which is at 90% I believe, and move down 5% or 10% at a time until you're satisfied.

Hope this helps.

If your wastegates rattle with the default map settings, just drop the wastegate postion value from the default of 90 to 30. This will essentially apply the same "fix" as the BMW anti-rattle dme software. But without the same loss in boost response.

Thanks Shiv, I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes.

Can you go below 30 if needed?

I also recently installed v4 with 12/29? Maps/firmware and notice more "waste gate rattle" after my tune compared to when I was stock. Any info you have would be appreciated.

^^^ do the same thing as suggested above. I'm not sure why you think your problem has a different solution if you have the exact same symptoms. I'm not trying to be an ass, but some of you are obnoxious with the support questions.
