Synapse BOV and ER chargepipe *review*
So I said I would post a review when I got these items so here it is, thanks to Fred@evolutionracewerks.com:
Install: The install itself was not complicated at all, and was not confusing. There were little things that made this a bit more time consuming than I expected. Taking the Air Box off was easy and I had to do it anyway to put my DCI back on. Then I got to the stubborn DV's, as some reviews stated, THEY DO NOT ALL TWIST OFF IN THE SAME DIRECTION! They weren't too easy to get off, but with a little muscle they eventually popped right out. Then taking everything else out was very easy. Putting the ER chargepipe on the throttle body took a bit of force and it did not seem to want to go on, but it did. So overall it wasnt too hard when compared to the other things that we have installed on my car, I would give it a 3/10 difficulty. Anyone with a small bit of effort can do this. Impressions: The BOV came very well packed and wrapped heavily in bubble wrap. Fred@evolutionracewerks really helped me out and spent a lot of his time on the phone with me and got this out very quickly. The free T-shirt was a nice bonus too. This looks absolutely AWESOME in the engine bay! When I turned it on and revved it for the first time it was crazy, I couldnt believe how awesome it sounded! This is definitely the coolest sounding thing I have on my car now, and I absolutely love it. Some people have said that BOV's are ricey, trashy, ect. but I can assure you that these labels do not apply to the synapse BOV. This BOV sounds perfect, it is not too loud and not too quiet. You can hear it very well around 2.5-3k RPM and even more so at the higher RPM's but it is not intrusive at all. I thought the sound might get annoying but I can tell that it has just the right tone to where I will never want to take it off. Now, onto the performance aspect; it was raining when I took my first drive with it on so I couldn't really tell if there was much of a gain; so I took it out today . There is better throttle response and it felt like the car accelerated a bit quicker. This is definitely a mod anyone with increased boost levels should buy! Too bad the chargepipe got a bit dirty in all that rain Video coming tomorrow! Last edited by Forcefed3; 05-18-2011 at 03:49 AM.. |

Thanks! No, it doesnt fit the HPF FMIC, I will get the HPF section two, which is the same as the ER piping, when it comes out. The sound of this BOV is awesome, you were right

I had the option to get any CP on the market, but I chose ER because they are a respectable company and I like how they use the factory C-clip to connect to the throttle body. I have 99.9% sure that there are absolutely no problems running meth through this CP.

Good review man!
I had mine installed last week. I, also purchased the upper IC pipe and glad I did cuz it eliminates that rubber section the OEM pipe had. I don't know if my head is playing tricks on me, but I can certainly feel the car spool up faster. Now that I remember, my GF actually told me it feels like the car spools up faster too! If my GF said that, than it must be true. |

It's not the bung itself, it is the placement. It is too close to the BOV and throttle body so meth has no time to atomize and it seeps through the BOV. Fred is changing the design at the moment and it should not be an issue in the future. If you don't plan on meth, then that is fine. Good quality product and great fitment.

I have been itching to get that BOV. I swear its the oldest thing on my wish list. Seem like that last things on my wish list are becoming priority now. I do indeed though want that BOV, the sound is mild and not over done.

Yeah it sounds perfect. This bov is a must for anyone running high boost levels. I am very glad I didn't get forge DV's.
