A bike hit my BMW said "sorry" and drove off...
So on my way to work around 8:30am heading south on Euclid between westminster and bolsa. I was parked at a red light. This goof ball kid on a bike tried to squeeze though my e90 and a huge SUV. He ended up scratching the rear bumper of my driver side, and putting a silver dollar sized coin dent in my wheel well. Like an idiot I told him to pull over... right when the red light turned green, that douch bag drove off at 80mph and by the time I looked for his license plate he was too far gone. Red and black bike guy had glasses and a black helmet with red highlights.
If some jack waggon swipes you with his bike, open your door get out and get his info as soon as possible because you can't catch him if he decides to take off. Okay now you guys can tell me how stupid I am for letting him get away.... -tamnwfg ![]() |

There was nothing stupid about it. Some folks are upstanding individuals and others are just selfish opportunists who have no sense of right and wrong. If the latter sort of cur has it in mind to ignore his responsibility, he will and there's little you can do about it unless you are willing to break the law yourself. The good thing is that sort of behaviour can only go on for so long before he has to pay the piper.
Sorry for your misfortune.

Was there any witness? Next time if there was some nice bystanders, get their info and report this incident. That way you can can claim your insurance and fix your car without paying deductible since it counts as a hit and run.

misfortune happened to me yesterday as well as i found out around 4pm. went to the passenger side to open the door for my lady and noticed a big pink spot on it. i rubbed at it with my middle finger thinking it was a smudge from someone eating yogurt or something and it just got on my car, but it happens to be someone's paint when they door dinged the living shit out of me. they did it so hard, it seemed like they intentionally did it. now there's a big dent on my door

Wow, that sucks. I think what you could've done is to have called the police and said a guy on a motorcycle (with description) seemed drunk and was speeding. They'll be looking for him and once they find him you can get his license plate. I don't know if there would be any repercussions for you though (you would only said "i think he's drunk").
Either way, good luck. |

A guy did that to me, but I ended up chasing him long enough that he pulled over. He had smacked my mirror but didn't break it. I think having some old bald dude in a little GMC squeeling tires to cath up with him after 2 miles made him pull over. I skidded to a stop in front of him to block his easy exit once I got out the car. I gave him a real rashing on doing the right thing, since I ride as well.
Take full responsibility for your actions. If you white line and hit a car, pull over and check/pay for damages. |

if there's a camera in the vicinity, you can claim hit and run and they may be able to track him

Should of filled a hit and run against him. Vehicle code states if you are white lining and hit another vehicle, the bike is responsible.
I ride bikes and only white line on the freeway between 1 and 2 lanes, the legal way. I will not do it on side streets or at lights. |
