Thinking of getting these Depo e90 HID kit

http://www.**********s.com/Depo-Headlights-E90.htm

I am a complete newbie when it comes to headlights. With this kit can I swap out for brighter/different color than the 6000K that it comes with? Or am I stuck with them?

You'll be able to swap out the 6000K bulb for one of your choice.

Alright and HID are the "angel eye" right? Or are those two different setups?

The HID is the main headlight bulb. These are the angel eyes :

(the four circles).

They do come with angel eyes. however, iirc, you can't use regular AE replacement bulbs in the depos.

You should also consider these Depo's from JleviSW.com:
http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/3-Se...duct_info.html

He offers LED turn signal lights - which are similar to LCI style. Also, some depo AE's have 64 LEDS each, but the LEDS rings are non-replaceable,so if one LED fails down the road, it will look bad. The JLeviSW EA's use four replaceable LED stalk ass'y. which can be relpaced if they fail. The 64+ LED AE's look a bit neater, but if they fail you're screwed. I plan to go with the JLeviSW ones - "however" all of these still have occassional errors when upgrading to Xenon from Halogen. JLeviSW is trying different ballasts and error cancellors - he last told me had have a fix in Feb. '11 - but that issue is more common on 06 models - so you '07 should be OK....

From a Depo P90 owner regarding my opinions on the AE rings.

The Depo AE rings uses 4 bulbs per ring and don't look very good. I'll eventually be upgrading to the full 240 LED rings seen here.

The 4 bulbs per AE ring looks poorly designed and weak. Most images make it look like the AE ring is full of light, yeah, but that's only at night. This pic gives you an idea on how the 4 bulb AEs look during the day. I have LEDs in the 4 bulb AEs BTW.

I thought you couldn't swap out the rings in the Depo HID kit?

You have to bake and open the headlamps to do so.

kind of. they sell sets with just 4 leds in each ring. if you want full led rings then

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/x240-...#ht_7611wt_941
contact that seller he should still sell the full led rings pre installed

I bought the DEPO headlight assembly with built-in LED halos since my 328i didn't come with them. Had them professionally installed and I could tell the tech was having a hard time getting the turn signals to behave. They are def not OEM quality and poorly built. I get bulb errors and hyper-flashing randomly from the poor turn signal connections. They also fogged up badly during the rain. Def not worth the high price. They look GREAT when they work, but I feel cheated inside.

That sucks. Many of us on here have Depos and don't have those issues. I have had mine since Nov and i've been through car washes, rain, cold to hot weather changes, etc and they don't fog up and no turn signal issues.
