Hi every one I have a 2010 328i coupe and I have yet to find speakers that fit do to all the specs. I have tried some mb quarts that are 4 1/2 in and they didn't fit the speaker hole seemed bigger. I also noticed that the stock speakers have a very unique plastic surrounding that made an air tight fit. What recommendations would you guys have?

If you have a 2010 US car you are likely to have the base system if it does not have tweeters in the door sills or sails .
If you have the logic 7 system you can get different speakers but adding
a amp is a harder because of the fiber optic connection between the Head Unit and amp
If you have the base system you can't get a very good result without putting in a processor or reprogramming the output of the Head Unit for low level flat signals and running it into an Amp first.

There is a third system that was offered from 06 to 09 and after 2010 September builds also that has and amp called the Hi Fi

The coupe doors require a slimmer speaker there is a list in the above link
I think I read the clearance was 48 mm for that one
