The door lock feature needs to be turned on...If you have idrive you can turn it on through the settings menu

No I did not..I did glance over it and I must have missed the "i-drive part"

Not really sure what a "progman" is though.

there is no way for you to find out through the vehicle as to what program level you are at. However if you had you're vehicle programmed recently and lost the drive-away locks setting, then you should bring it back to the dealership with the complaint. The technician needs to add this into the vehicle settings via the programming computer. Its common for this feature to be lost, no matter what software version you have.

I will check into it tomorrow when im in work whether the 328, 335 have changed from the 325, 330 when it comes to setting Driveaway locks in a non-i drive E90.
Its supposed to snow, so i should have time to mess around and find out whether it needs to be done at the dealership.
It used to be that DRL's had to be done at the dealership, but they changed it to the stalk, i'm not sure if they included driveaway locks in the vehicle yet.

I will have a definate answer for you tomorrow!

as of right now tho, i think you may have to bring it to have it retrofitted to the vehicle. (pain in the ass for both customer and tech to deal with)
the dealer will typically charge (0.5-1.0) depending on what dealer you bring it to for the activation
