Hi all,

I have a 2009 BMW 335i xDrive Coupe with the new iDrive system.

I wanted to update my current navigation maps (2009) to the new 2011 maps.

BMW quoted me $650!!!!

Anyone know where i can get this cheaper or if this is price is negotiable?

HD based maps cannot be updated by the end user, at least not yet anyway. Do they even have the 2011 North America maps out yet for the HD based system? $600 is just plain robbery

Anyways my maps get updated each time I go in for my yearly service. Car came with 2009, got the 2010 update at my 1 year service so hopefully 2011 maps come out when my 2 year service comes due.

Mind you each time I have had issues with my maps like little glitches, I find as long as you can show them a problem they will update them as a potential fix.

ya, they showed me them too (they thought i was going to buy it lol) after they told me the price, i laughed in their faces lol...

your lucky about the maps being updated,... where do you go? i am starting to go to Budd's BMW in hamilton... they're kinda stingy, doubt they will upgrade the maps for me...

2009.1 had a corrupt database with large chunks of data missing; 2009.2 was the fix.
2010.1 was a makeover from the 2009 versions and version numbering changed.
2011.1 curious to see what this has new

My service advisor from Stevens Creek BMW told me $380 when I asked about this last week while I was doing routine maintenance. My 2010 E90 came with the 2009.2 version of the navigation software. I wasn't sure what added value I'd get out of the upgrade, so I didn't go forth with it.
