AA Intercooler
May be picking one up cheap/used.
Any pros/cons? Anticipated costs of having it installed at a shop? Any trimming required? Will it be an issue to bring it to service with it on? |

A lot of trimming is required for the AA intercooler.
Most likely it will be an issue to bring it in for service with it on.

We have many of our customers take their vehicle's to the Dealership with the Active Autowerke Intercooler and have no issues at all doing regular service. If you have any questions or would like more information please feel free to send me a PM and I will be more than glad to assist you.

Regular service will never be a problem, you can't void your maintenance warranty. But, depending on your dealership, I'd be wary to bring it in with any kind of modification nowadays for powertrain warranty work. Ask me how I know, lol. Im not in SoFla, but in Central FL. BTW, I have the AA intercooler and it is definitely one of the better ones (i.e. one of the biggest frontal areas which is good for heat transfer).

If i were to do it again, i will look for something different. Its from my own experience so others might have different opinions. My AA intercooler piping sucks! Especially passenger side is tricky. AA intercooler hoses arent the best out there. They were too soft, everytime theres boost build up, hoses expanded like balloon. I think the overall piping design could have been better. As far as cooling wise, i think its doing its job.
I mean please take ur time to look around, there are so many options out there now. |

oh ye, for $385, I don't care if the piping was all weird. I'm saying is for $1000 Intercooler (probably the most expensive on the market) They could have used better piping and hoses. Just get it if it's really $385. Nothing to loose.

Ya I'd agree with the piping issues. Love the power I picked up from the AA intercooler. I'm running there catback and intercooler and picked up around 30whp with that and an AFE intake. If you're going the AA route though order replacement silicon pipes and couplers before you do your initial install and just replace the cheap ones that came with the kit. I've gotta tear off my bumper and replace those pipes in the near future before I put a tune on... they keep blowing off on high RPM shifts.

Yep... dyno charts are incredibly smooth/linear too. No dips or anything. I'm running stock downpipes too I should add.
